1. A Historic Election

This year marked a historic election with record-breaking voter turnout—but the Biden-Harris administration will take office at a time with record levels of domestic terror, antisemitism, and hate crimes.

It’s critical to recognize that the end of a Trump administration does not mean an end to the extremism he’s enabled over the last four years.

Far-right extremists have taken President Trump’s disinformation and conspiracy theories about the election as a call to action—resulting in increasingly violent protests and other concerning developments. Some, like our Charlottesville defendant neo-Nazi Andrew Anglin and his hate site the Daily Stormer, have urged a race war in response to the election.

We’re keeping a close eye on this as it evolves.

White supremacy is alive and well—and it’s going to take every tool we have to begin to break its pervasive hold on this country.

2. A Dire Warning and Troubling Statistics

As we’ve noted, we’re facing unprecedented levels of white supremacist terror and far-right extremist violence in America.

This fall, the Department of Homeland Security called white supremacist terror “the most persistent and lethal threat” in the U.S. Their report showed a staggering number of domestic-terror related deaths specifically attributed to white supremacists in 2018-2019.

The FBI’s new annual hate crimes report showed a similarly troubling trend. 2019 was the deadliest year on record for hate crimes, with 51 recorded murders—a 113% increase from 2018.

Far-right attacks have increased by 250% since 2014—with deaths increasing by 709% in the same time period—according to the 2020 Global Terrorism Index.

The experts are ringing the alarm bells: we must treat the threat of white supremacist and other far-right extremist violence with the seriousness and gravity it deserves.

3. Virtual Event Thursday 12/3

This Thursday at 7pm ET, we’re joining Slate’s Dahlia Lithwick for a virtual conversation with our Charlottesville lead counsel Roberta Kaplan and Executive Director Amy Spitalnick.

They’ll discuss recent updates in our lawsuit and the fight against extremism in the year ahead as we prepare for trial this spring. Register here: White Nationalism in 2021: Putting the Movement on Trial.

If you're interested in hosting an event with IFA, please reply to this email or contact us at Contact@integrityfirstforamerica.org.

In the face of rising far-right extremism and racist violence, we’re moving full-speed ahead with our Charlottesville suit—which can bankrupt and dismantle the leaders and groups at the center of this violent movement. We won’t stop fighting until these neo-Nazis and white supremacists are held accountable.

Stay up to date

Our lawsuit against the Nazis and white supremacists who organized the attack on Charlottesville goes to trial on October 25. Subscribe here for updates about the case and the broader fight against white supremacy.
